SOLO MEALS.

These images are a compilation of post-undergraduate students that are
living independently for the first time and cooking for themselves. Each
person is located in their own apartment, wearing what they had been
wearing that day, and display a meal that they have prepared for
themselves. In this inquiry, I hoped to explore the critical time between
school and marriage, where the person is truly independent for the first
time and can decide how nourish themselves. It interests me how some
people will cook meals, other eat frozen meals, and the majority eat
childhood favorites; such as peanut butter sandwiches and mac'n'cheese.
It is a very interesting period where there is still an immaturity to
adulthood. I conceived this series because I expect to cook full meals
when I have a family, but when it comes to myself, I am more prone to
make Lean Cuisines and order takeout (as pictured) due to convenience
and laziness. I learned my peers are essentially the same.
